# Hexofloat® — EuroCover's EU hexagonal cover (AWTT-approved)

Hexofloat® — EuroCover's patented EU-tooled hexagonal cover, AWTT design-approved. 190 mm tile, 99% coverage, 75 MPH wind, 15-year life, 3–6 wk EU lead.

**Hexofloat®** is EuroCover Water Systems' own patented hexagonal floating cover —
EU-engineered, manufactured on EuroCover-owned tooling, and formally **AWTT
design-approved**. It carries the same self-contained-chamber, anchorless,
hexagonal-tessellation concept as Hexprotect® AQUA, with a lighter shell, smaller tile,
shorter EU lead times, and a 15-year service life envelope.

## What is Hexofloat®?

Hexofloat® is a patented modular HDPE hexagonal element designed for industrial water
bodies — reservoirs, tailings ponds, treatment tanks, irrigation storage. Each tile is
**190 mm** diameter with a self-contained chamber (no separate ballast required), and the
cover tessellates at **99% effective surface coverage** like its larger sibling. AWTT
design-approved the product; EuroCover owns the tooling, the patent, and the EU supply
chain end-to-end.

## How Hexofloat® compares with Hexprotect® AQUA

Both products share the working principle. The differences are envelope and supply
(AWTT-published values for AQUA below):

- **Tile size** — 190 mm (Hexofloat®) vs AWTT 220 mm (Hexprotect® AQUA).
- **Material weight** — ~30% less plastic per tile vs Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **Shell thickness** — ~30% thinner wall vs Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **Wind resistance** — 75 MPH vs AWTT 130+ MPH (Hexprotect® AQUA is the hurricane-rated cover).
- **Buoyancy** — Less buoyant than Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **Life expectancy** — 15 years vs 25+ years (AWTT-published).
- **Warranty** — Same 10-year manufacturer warranty (AWTT for AQUA; EuroCover for Hexofloat®).
- **Lead time** — 3–6 weeks (EU manufacturing) vs 2–8 weeks for Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **Shipping** — More compact than Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **NSF certification** — NSF/ANSI food-grade *formulations available* on Hexofloat® (not
  certified by default); Hexprotect® AQUA is NSF/ANSI food-grade by default.

When the project's binding constraint is lead time, supply-chain risk, EU-sourcing
policy, or transport efficiency, Hexofloat® is the EuroCover answer. When the binding
constraint is hurricane exposure, the longest validated life, or NSF-by-default for

## How Hexofloat® works

- **Material**: HDPE. NSF/ANSI food-grade and FDA-compliant formulations available for
  potable applications (not NSF-compliant by default — specify food-grade at order time).
- **Geometry**: 190 mm hexagonal element with self-contained chamber.
- **Ballast**: Self-contained chamber (hexagonal); less buoyant than Hexprotect® AQUA.
- **Installation**: Anchorless. Launched from the shoreline; self-distributes via natural
  water motion. Identical to Hexprotect® AQUA install procedure.
- **Maintenance**: None required — no moving parts, no power consumption.
- **Manufacturing**: European Union, on EuroCover-owned tooling.
